Bluewater Cruising Yachts, are built in Mora, Minnesota USA. Three generations of the Klapmeier family and their 3,000 employees, have been building these lovely vessels for many years and the build quality is evident, once you step on board.
The 5800 Custom, was designed as a planning hull for inland and coastal waterways in the USA and combines the interior "home style" comforts and luxury of a smooth water vessel, with power, speed and sufficient ruggedness, to handle coastal passages when required.
This particular vessel was imported to Australia by the current owner in 2013 and has since been converted to 240v.
Since build in 1999, there have been many upgrades on this lovely vessel with the current owners having no intention to sell. This unfortunately, has now changed due to personal circumstances beyond their control.
Below is a sample of the numerous upgrades completed:
Complete exterior paint in 2-pak white
Reinforced Bow Stem (for mooring against a river bank or beach)
Full Electrical conversion to 240v
New Mase 900 - 9kw Generator
Three (reverse cycle) air-conditioners (Master Stateroom, VIP Suite and Saloon)
Side Power Bow Thruster converted to 24v
Rope cutters fitted to prop shafts
Hot Water System (240v) replaced in 2019
Blue Underwater Lights
"House" batteries replaced with Lithium in 2021 ( 4 x 300 = 1,200amp/hr)
Start batteries ( Lead Acid 2 x 200amp/hr) replaced in 2021
Generator battery ( Lead Acid 1 x N70) replaced in 2022
AB Centre Console (alloy bottom) RIB Tender with 30hp Honda in 2017 ( less than 15hrs)
Hydraulic Swim Platform
New Stainless Upright Fridge/Freezer in galley
New automatic Dehumidifier
New 'top of the range' Garbage Disposal
CCTV Camera installed in Cockpit
All New Upholstery on Flybridge
When you step into the saloon, you are greeted by a warm and comfortable ambience, with home style furnishings and fittings.
A great feature of this vessel, is the saloon, galley and aft master suite, are all on the entry level, with only the forward VIP suite, on the lower level.
Access to the flybridge is via an aft staircase from the cockpit deck and also via stairs from both side decks.
As you reach the top of the flybridge aft staircase, you enter into a stunning and vast entertaining area with comfortable lounges, a circular table, double door Isotherm refrigeration, a sink with hot/cold taps, a large stainless BBQ with external venting and loads of storage space.
Up front on the flybridge, is the main helm station, with comfortable seating and a modern Raymarine Axiom navigation system.
All of this is under an FRP Hardtop and is beautifully enclosed with Clears, to keep the weather out if necessary, or open up to enjoy those warm and barmy days on the water. This space is an entertainers delight!
It is obvious, that the owners have not hesitated to spend money on maintenance and useful upgrades, that will see future owners enjoying this lovely cruiser, for many years to come.
