There are a number of good mobile phone weather apps available for boating, such as Willy Weather and Windy. I can also recommend MetEye, which is displayed on the BOM website and I have found it to be very reliable. For the most part, cross referencing between the various apps and MetEye, will give a reasonably accurate picture of what can be expected.
